WHAT IS PROVENT THERAPY? 

Provent Therapy is a safe, non-invasive and cost-effective treatment that DOES NOT require a machine, mask or medications. Provent is clinically proven CPAP Alternative effective for the treatment of mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).  Provent is a disposable nasal strip that is worn at night and attaches with a hypoallergenic adhesive over the nares. The microvalve technology in Provent uses your own breathing to create EPAP- Expiratory positive airway pressure therefore maintaining an open airway during sleep. WHAT IS EPAP? 

EPAP or Expiratory positive airway pressure, refers to a mode of breathing support only applies positive pressure when you are exhaling. You inhale as normal the valve ia trigged to allow normal inhalation. When you exhale the valve closes over the nostrils and applies gentle pressure. This pressure opens the airways and therefore reduces obstruction that causes sleep apnea. HOW DOES PROVENT THERAPY WORK? 

Provent Sleep Apnea Therapy is used to treat mild-moderate obstructive sleep apnea. Provent uses the power of your own breathing to create nasal Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure (EPAP) to keep your airway open and treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Provent increases pressure in the airway when you breathe out, helping to prevent collapse of the airway while you sleep. When you inhale airflow is nearly unobstructed, allowing for normal breathing through Provent’s MicroValve. Upon exhaling Provent’s MicroValve closes, directing air through small air channels, increasing resistance. Expiratory resistance through Provent creates EPAP and maintains pressure in the airway until next inhalation.
